Dinner with the Band
Episode #2 “Making Ceviche with Pela.”

Sam Mason: Alright so the Paella is done, were going to make a Ceviche to go with this. We are going to start with two grapefruits. Two limes, one jalapeño, one can of lychess. We have filleted mackerel. Salt, pepper, cilantro.
Hey lets eat!
Nate Martinez: Alright.
Billy Mccarthy: Cheers!
Sam Mason: Oh yeah cheers.
What happened to your beer?
Nate Martinez: Yeah where is your beer?
Eric Sanderson: I drank it.
Sam Mason: You know what you deserve it. This Ceviche is probably pretty spicy. I don’t know if you’re into that type of shit.
Tom Slavzovich: Absolutely, it’s delicious.
Sam Mason: You like haven’t eaten for like four hours.
Nate Martinez: I like the grapefruit.
Sam Mason: Lets talk a little bit about uh, any town Graffiti, the new album.
Eric Sanderson: Sure, Nates the best, he’s the numbers guy.
Nate Martinez: It’s a triple album.
Billy Mccarthy: It’s about dancing. It’s like flash dance.
Nate Martinez: Yeah it’s like there’s three different, basically three different pieces.
Nate Martinez: Vignettes. Long, I guess long.
Billy Mccarthy: We wear leotards.
Nate Martinez: Yeah we occasionally do leotards, but no, it’s our first album, were really excited about it.
Sam Mason: So its not three disks?
Nate Martinez: No, no its not, leave that up to the clash. It took us the last year to record it, we didn’t have any funding. We kind of did it on our own.
Sam Mason: You should put out a cassette.
Nate Martinez: We tried to you can’t buy them anymore you know?
Eric Sanderson: Surprisingly expensive for them too.
Nate Martinez: Yeah they are.
Sam Mason: Is it really, for the technology?
Nate Martinez: We finally got it finished and we are releasing it with this great new label, great society. It’s coming out end of April, and were going to tour a lot.
Sam Mason: Yeah so it’s going to be a ten month you said? Something ridiculous.
Nate Martinez: Well, you know…
Sam Mason: You do Wichita?
Nate Martinez: As long as they don’t pull guns on us.
Sam Mason: Oh then wont go to Wichita.
Nate Martinez: It will happen in Indiana.
Sam Mason: India, I was like wow world tour.
Nate Martinez: In India yeah they will pull guns on us.
Tom Slavzovich: What was the night, when the guy got up, when you got on the table of the pizzeria? And that guy was saying all that stuff about us?
Nate Martinez: Oh, shit that was the kid rock kick off.
Eric Sanderson: Oh man, good memory Tom.
Nate Martinez: That’s a good story.
Billy Mccarthy: Oh yeah the rock kicker.
Nate Martinez: That was in Bloomington Indiana. We played an early show and then we went to this karaoke thing that this thing form electro magnolia company hosted. And this kid was there and he was just a champion at the karaoke.
Rock kicks that, I mean, he could almost hit the ceiling. We were very impressed. Later that night, like after we were very drunk, we saw him in a pizzeria, and we tried to have a kick off with him. Like a rock kick off.
Sam Mason: I’m guessing you lost this one.
Billy Mccarthy: I think I broke a table in there.
Tom Slavzovich: Actually Nate broke it.
Eric Sanderson: Actually, um, Billy was throwing some serious moves. But this guy was, he was like rehearsed. He had moves. And the guy brought tout a move that I think Billy couldn’t step up to and then Nate saw it happening in the background, so he quickly leaped off the table in an attempt to do a kick five feet in the air.
Which would have naturally put this guy down.
Sam Mason: You would have killed him.
Eric Sanderson: But um…
Sam Mason: I was going to say did you slip a disk?
Eric Sanderson: No, the table broke, the table wasn’t bolted to the ground, so it kept moving forward and I fell off and punched a light out, fucking flat on my back.
Billy Mccarthy: We got kicked out of a pizza parlor.
Nate Martinez: Yeah and we lost the rock kick off, this guys infamous.
Billy Mccarthy: He was pretty much like a Tom Livingston.
Sam Mason: Oh so he still dates high school chicks?
Billy Mccarthy: Totally.
